Obituary for Austin Reid "Reid" Coffman
It is with great sadness that the family of Austin “Reid” Coffman, 66, of Winchester, VA announces his passing on Monday, May 13, 2019 at his home.
He was born September 28, 1952 in Arlington, VA; the son of the late Austin Franklin and Margaret Menefee Coffman. Reid served his country in the Navy right after high school. He worked as a supervisor for the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Fairfax.
Reid is survived by his companion of twenty-nine years, Joan Lynch of Winchester; children, Robert Reid Coffman (Jamie) of Waterford, CA, Regina Francine Coffman (Erik) of Chico, CA and Justin Ray Coffman (Angie) of New Jersey; step daughter, Crystal Mullenax of Winchester; brother, Franklin “Skip” Coffman (Miriam) of Stanardsville, VA; seven grandchildren and lifelong friend, Mike Wynkoop of Centreville, VA.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of Reid Coffman, to the SPCA of Winchester, Frederick and Clarke Counties, 111 Featherbed Lane, Winchester, VA 22601.
