As a member of the Frederick County Sheriff's Office I worked with Dave for many years. He was always very kind and helpful to me and passed along his knowledge whenever I sought his help.
Dave, you will be missed by those who knew you; rest in peace my friend.

Rest in Peace dear sir. Granted there were a ton of persons that knew "Mr. Ramsey". I met Mr, Ramsey a few times while fishing and hunting and I talked to him at an auction once. He was a great guy. My Grandfather and Uncles knew and respected the man. He was always doing his job it seemed and that suited him well. He seemed like an icon as a Game Warden. My very first experience was my very best and lifelong lasting impression of the man. It was at a extremely remote and small trout stream location. One of my Uncles had set a friend and myself loose out on a trek of our own. We didn't have a clue! Mr. Ramsey was very good at sneaking up on us! We were scared to pieces but he made us feel right at home right away. I truly believe it was my Sheriff Andy Taylor moment! Thank goodness all was in order on our end. He chatted with us for a good while about good spots. He explained the do's and the don'ts. He made it very clear not to get on his bad side when we were in the woods fishing or hunting. When he left, my friend and I totally respected him. We abide by the law to this day when it comes to the rule of law in the woods. We were 16 or 17 maybe. I wonder how many other persons he set mentored in his time? I would guess more than we could imagine and many untold stories are out there I'm sure. We met again in the woods hunting briefly and when he walked away I thought, how brave and devoted he is to do what he does. I'm saddened by his passing but I would smile knowing he is going to watch over far better mountains and rivers now. Thank you Mr. Ramsey and well done sir.

Uncle David Ramsey was my mother's brother who we saw frequently when were children. While they lived in Buena Vista, we visited and shared many good times of which I have many wonderful memories. I saw Uncle David most recently 2 or 3 years ago and I am very glad I saw and talked with him one last time. I know he is with many loved ones and God and Christ our Savior now. Rest in Peace Uncle David Ramsey.
Love from your neice,
