Obituary for George O'Brien Orndorff

George O’Brien Orndorff, 88 years young, passed away peacefully into our Lord’s awaiting arms on Friday, May 24, 2019.

He was born on March 28, 1931 in Frederick County, Virginia to Ernest and Anna (Newlin) Orndorff. George graduated from Handley High School Class of 1949 and served proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Upon returning, he worked as a Production Manager for the Gulf Stream Automotive Division of O’Sullivan Corporation until his retirement in 1986.

George loved to fish and go on walks with his favorite walking stick through the woods at Izaak Walton. He was a member of AARP, VFW Post 2123, American Legion Post 141, and Izaak Walton League, Winchester Chapter.

George is survived by his son, David (Vanessa)and his two grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Kaytie Orndorff of Glendale, Arizona and David Orndorff, II of Spotsylvania, Virginia. He is also survived by his cousins, Bobby Orndorff, and Kathy Manuel, as well as a host of relatives.

He is pre-deceased by his parents, his sister Colleen Megeath, and brothers Jack, Joe, Earl, and Ernest Jr..

A private graveside service will be held at Mount Hebron Cemetery.
