Obituary for Moman Hoke "M.H." Barr Jr.

Moman Hoke Barr, Jr (M.H.), of Winchester, VA, walked into the kingdom of heaven on February 27, 2019.

M.H. was born January 26, 1949 in Goldsboro, NC. to the late Moman H. Barr and Florence Moore Barr of Warsaw, NC.

During his service in the United States Navy, his passion for music and his country were fulfilled while playing trumpet with the United States Navy Band Commodores.

He worked a number of years in manufacturing as an engineer, plant manager, and Vice President of manufacturing. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Winchester.

M.H. is survived by the love of his life, wife of 45 years, Nancy Lillard Barr. He leaves two daughters, Teri Southworth and husband, James of Midlothian, VA; Ashley Glascoe and husband, Leonard of Martinsburg, WV and three grandchildren, Caris, Colin and Madison. He is also survived by a sister, Martha Smith and husband, Alford of Georgia and brother-in-law, Douglas Lillard of Front Royal, VA.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Open Door Baptist located at 333 Jeremiah Lane, Clear Brook, VA 22624.

Memorial services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
