Knowing Gene the past two years has been a delight since he joined our Tuesday night supper club at the Paper Mill. His stories, jokes and memory were outstanding. Knowing that he grew up in a farm family of six kids during the Great Depression had to be big struggle. His humbleness and steadfast appetite to keep abreast the farm scene nationally as well as the other current events was totally remarkable. We miss him dearly. Penny and Wayne Seipel

Gene was a valued member of Round Hill Ruritan and attended every meeting with enthusiasm. He attended most of the events that were held by the club. Every meeting ended with Mr. Larrick telling a joke. His memory on the history of Ruritan was amazing. He would explain how and why things were done in a particular manner and his recall was outstanding. He was the historian for the club as well as an inspiration to those he encountered. I had the privilege of working with him on a presentation of 65 years of Round Hill Ruritan and the pleasure of knowing more about him. As I got to know him better I realized how dedicated he was to making the community a better place. For those that knew Mr. Larrick knew what an honor it was to know such an outstanding man. His love for his family, his farm, and the community made him an inspiration to us all.
